Display Signs

From an article first published in the Uxbridge & Hayes recorder 4th August 1988

DISPLAY SIGNS of Uxbridge has grown from a one man operation to a thriving business that uses the latest technology. The company was started in 1976 by signwriter Alan Kelvey, in his father’s garage behind the house. Alan wrote signs for local shops and businesses. He brought in his then fiancee, Jane, to look after the administration and act as sales representative and board painter.

Today, Display Signs still remains a family business, run by Alan and Jane Kelvey. Business is still increasing, thanks to a company policy of a high volume of work at competitive prices.

Display Signs continually updates its technology, keeping abreast of new developments in the graphic industry. The company’s full range of sign and display services extends from simple “No Smoking” type of sign to point-of-sale, fleet livery and corporate branding work. No job is considered too big or too small, says Alan Kelvey – he attaches as much importance to the small businessman’s orders as to the corporate account.
