To cope with the increased demand for air travel and still maintain their exceptional standards and safety record, our flag carrier, British Airways, has built a huge flight crew training facility.
As well as classroom based training the BA engineers have constructed a number of simulators where the ‘would be’ crew can familiarise themselves with the cabin environment, learn where equipment is stored and practice emergency procedures.
The simulators must give the impression that they are a real aircraft so the areas not in direct use are made as scenery using specially printed sand texture laminated panels (see photos) and of course printed and cut graphics for all the decals. You would be surprised how many decals you get in and on an aircraft cabin.
Following the closure of the British Airways sign shop last year Display Signs has stepped up to fill the void.
